At it’s core are work preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and high quality work experience.
Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work experience needed to get an apprenticeship or other job.

Seeros Day Care Nursery in Rochdale are looking for enthusiastic and friendly trainees aged 16-23 who are interested in working in Childcare to join them working for up to 26 weeks on a Traineeship programme.Â
Traineeship's are a new Government programme designed to give young people the skills, knowledge and hands on work experience needed to secure a job or apprenticeship.
Our programme delivered in partnership with the Seeros Day Care Nursery will include:
- Work preparation and employability training e.g. interview skills, CV writingÂ
- A work placement where you will gain valuable work experience working in Childcare gaining skills and knowledge in Childcare
- Industry knowledge and skills specific to the Childcare industry as well as on the job training
- Completion of units from suitable Apprenticeship Framework, in preparation for successful transition to an Apprenticeship
Typical task you may complete as part of the work placement include:
- Plan and supervise activities like arts and crafts, music and cooking
- Help children to learn numeracy skills through activities like counting games
- Read stories and provide activities to develop the children’s language skills
- Take children on outings
- Feed and change babies
- Make sure the children are safe and well at all times (safeguarding)
This Traineeship opportunity is part of a programme which will include off the job training each week covering English, Maths and job search activity.
Are you eligible?Â
1.  Are you currently not in a job and have little or no relevant Work Experience?
2. Are you aged 16-18 and qualified below Level 3 (A level) or 19 to 23 and not yet achieved a Level 2 (5 GCSE’s at grade C including Maths and English)?
3. Think you could be ready for employment or an apprenticeship within 6 months?

Future Prospects : 1.     Dependant on candidate’s performance, to be offered an interview for an Apprenticeship on completion of the Traineeship.
2.    To gain valuable knowledge and skills to assist you with accessing Childcare Apprenticeships/employment.
3.    Gain a certificate upon completion and references to support further job/apprenticeship applications.
