Job Description
JOB ROLE:
To work within the framework of the Hospice in its provision of Specialist Palliative Care by supporting the Catering Manager Housekeeper and Head Cook in ensuring that the aims and objectives of the organisation are met.
To carry out the following duties:
- To work as a member of the Housekeeping team helping to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the Hospice for patients, visitors and staff
- To be responsible for areas within the Hospice as allocated by the Housekeeper
- To be responsible for the correct use and cleanliness of equipment and reporting any defects to the Housekeeper
- To be responsible for the laundry of linens
- To washing crockery, cutlery and other utensils used in the preparation and cooking of food
- To collect used items from wards and dining rooms
- To service of refreshments required throughout the Hospice
- To assist in basic preparation and cooking duties
- To clean kitchen ovens and equipment
Additional Duties
- To help prepare and serve at events as required
- To adhere with all Health & Safety practices
- To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene
- To develop good working practices using Food Safety management system used by the catering team
- To ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times
- To attend all mandatory training e.g. Fire Safety and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
- To be aware of infection control measures
