Job Description
We are looking for a companion for our 68 year old mother who has M. S but lives independently in her own home.
There are 2 parts to the job - first is to generally help around the house as needed for example: putting together a shopping list, changing the ink in the printer, taking stock of the freezer, helping sort out paper work, put up some decorations at Christmas, wrapping a few presents for her, plant a few flowers in Summer (mum loves gardening and you don't need to be a gardener to do this!). Nothing heavy duty - mum has a gardener to cut grass and do hard stuff, a cleaner to clean the house and carers to do laundry and ironing. It's all the other jobs that just pile up, changing a light bulb - simple things mum just can't do!
The second part would be just to spend time chatting with mum, go into town so she can do some shopping, or down to the local cafe for an outing and lunch - it's more the social stimulation and a chance to get out the house.
To give you some idea of her character, she is a sweet lady who likes to play chess on-line, is a massive Liverpool football fan, enjoys cake and watches all the soaps religiously!!!
There is NO intimate care involved or administering of medicines etc. It is mostly being handy to help where needed with small jobs and provide company. I hope it would be an easy and pleasant position for the right person.
Please have references, C. V of your experience and a current CRB certificate.
