Job Description

This farm has developed a range of pasties, pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, cheese, yoghurts, ice cream, etc  for their farm shop and farmers market stall.



This job, initially, will be around production of the food, some butchery perhaps, cheese and ice cream production to ensure a regular supply for the shop, but if you show initiative and creativity you will be able to help with the development of new items. 



The farm milks its own cows to aid with their food production. They are also growing wheat grass hydroponically for the production of fodder for the stock and are planning to grow lettuce shortly.



The apprentice might also work on the market stall if they are interested in this kind of work.
Personal Qualities : The ability to work using your initiative, sometimes on your own or without assistance. Candidates must have a proactive and creative approach.



Working practically with your hands, you will be well organised and be show a genuine interest in the business. Keen to learn and adapt to the processes in creating the various products.

Skills Required : A level of practical knowledge and understanding relating to the production of food items would be useful.



Experience is not essential though, if you hold the right attitude and are willing to listen to instructions and to learn.

Future Prospects : It is anticipated that there may be the opportunity of ongoing employment upon completion of the apprenticeship.
