Background to The Fashion & Design Club, London

In 2010 a small number of experienced fashion designers and senior executives in fashion and design decided to form a club. The aim was to share business ideas and methodology between its members with the aim that this would make their business more successful.

The Club holds several meetings a year to network and listen to a variety of subjects presented by top speakers: Partners in legal firms e.g. DLA Piper, Fox Williams, Dentons or financial firms e.g. BDO, Hazlems Chartered Accountants or those highly experienced and acknowledged in the fashion and design field on a variety of business topics: licensing (Beanstalk), how to buy or sell a luxury brand, Intellectual Property and copyright in fashion, Chanel’s approach to marketing, and finance in fashion (value a fashion business, finance deals in fashion and how to attract investors).

Examples of where members work or have worked as a creative director / senior executive: Temperley London, Paul Smith, Pentland, Thomas Pink, Janet Reger, Theo Fennell, PPQ, Julien MacDonald, Erikson Beamon, Pringle of Scotland, Chanel, Burberry, Matthew Williamson, Margaret Howell, Oliver Sweeney, Linda Farrow, Felder Felder, Duchamp, Maria Grachvogel, Maharishi, Paul Costelloe, Eley Kishimoto, Jaeger, Aspinal of London, Nicole Farhi, Antoni & Alison, Mulberry and Vivienne Westwood.

The members have decided they would like to share some of their knowledge to a wider audience but have little time to contribute much themselves. The Club is non profit making and does not charge fees to either join or attend events.
