CRA is a very small (1 person) consultancy specialising in product policy i.e. the standards, Regulations, industry agreements etc. that govern the safety and environmental performance of products used by consumers and in the workplace. Whilst the area of product safety is a fairly mature one, the area of (improving) environmental performance is rapidly expanding, particularly that related to energy consumption since this has a huge impact on carbon emissions. As such, it plays a crucial role in the climate change agenda - a role that will be required for many years to come
CRA has opportunities to expand and the Principal needs to pass on his knowledge and experience to a younger generation as product policy is a growing areas where substantial expertise will be required for many years to come.
The Internship thus provides an opportunity for a suitable candidate to gain experience of product policy working closely with UK Government officials, NGOs and the world's leading experts in this field.
Whilst the intership would be self-funded (unpaid except for travelling expenses), this would be limited to the work being carried out on existing contracts held by CRA. It is anticipated that part-time paid work would be available on any new contracts won by CRA. |
