Solon is a Bristol-based charitable Housing Association. With just 1200 homes we are a small association but we definitely have big ambitions. Here at Solon we constantly strive for the highest standards in housing and community development and work closely with residents to continually improve our services.
We have a new opening in Corporate Services for a temporary assistant. The role will run from 27th June till the 1st December. This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours p/w, although part time/job share will be considered.

The role will command a salary of circa £18k (pro rata).

We are seeking to recruit a Corporate Services Assistant to join our small and independent organisation. The key focus of this role is to provide a comprehensive and customer focused administration and office management service to all internal and external customers.

You will report directly into the Corporate Services Manager and will be working closely with colleagues across Solon in order to share best practice and provide support to all areas of the business.

Excellent communication skills are essential as you'll be in frequent contact with senior managers and colleagues within the department as well as a key contact for our residents. You’ll need a positive and flexible approach to teamwork and the ability to work on your own initiative.

You will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to support all colleagues in a professional and confident manner
  • Experience in an administrative role
  • Confidence working with all Microsoft Office applications and databases
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills


Main duties will include: Assisting with collating and sending out Board meeting papers, ordering office supplies, general office administration, filing, logging information into relevant databases for reporting purposes, arranging training, helping with aspects of staff recruitment and administering the personnel services for staff.
