The first beer to be brewed by the company was J.W. Lees Cask Bitter which first saw the light of day in 1828. Other brews that have been added over the years include Extra Smooth and Dark Smooth variants on the JW Lees bitter theme, along with a lager, a mild and bottled ales like Moonraker Strong Ale, Manchester Star Ale and the 11.5% barley wine called Harvest Ale. The family-run business also has a dedicated wine distribution arm which is branded as Willoughby's.
