Company Details

The halow project is a Guildford based charity that supports young people aged 16-35 with a learning disability. We’re dedicated to ensuring the people we support are able to live independent, meaningful, fulfilled lives and become more involved in their local community.

We are looking for care assistants to work with our young people on a 1:1 personal support basis as part of our halow Buddy Service. The halow Buddy Service is part of halow care, a not-for-profit community interest company which runs alongside the halow project. As a halow Buddy you will be supporting our young people to be independent within their community and/or in their own homes. You will need to be self-motivated, energetic, empathetic, have a good sense of humour and be able to work flexible hours. These could include night times, weekends and holidays. halow Buddies work predominantly in the Surrey area as the majority of people we support live there.

halow Buddies and young people are matched according to their interests, age and other individual needs.

All of our halow Buddies are DBS checked and participate in halow's core induction training; including modules such as first aid, epilepsy awareness and safeguarding adults, among many others. There are options for halow Buddies to undertake further training should they want to broaden their understanding of and abilities within the charity sector.

Please follow the link to the 'Work For Us' section of the halow website for a detailed job description and application form. Please note you MUST complete and send the application form to halow care in order for you to be considered for the role.
