The iconic red and white sign of TGI Friday’s is being seen more and more throughout the United Kingdom. And more TGI Friday’s restaurants mean more full and part time jobs for the students who are studying near them. Good news isn’t it?!

TGI Friday’s started out on the corner of 1st and 63rd in New York’s Manhattan with nothing more than a chalkboard for a menu. The chain has expanded rapidly over the five decades since, now boasting operations in over 60 countries with a total portfolio of outlets approaching the 1,000 mark.

The first TGI Friday’s started to appear in the UK during the middle of the 1980s, and, at the time of writing, there are currently around 60 TGI Friday’s restaurants in Britain. The chain also has ambitious plans to double their operations in the UK to over 120 restaurants before the end of 2020.

London currently has around half a dozen TGI Friday’s restaurants and there are already branches of TGI Friday’s in big student areas like Bath, Cardiff, Coventry, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield, Swansea and many more places.
