Company Details

Spinal Homecare Services has been in business for over a decade and helps to bring support to people with spinal cord disabilities and injuries across the United Kingdom.

The company offers specialist support to spinal cord sufferers - or adults and children with a range of other disabilities - on a live-in basis so that their clients can lead a comfortable and more rewarding life in their own homes.

Spinal Homecare Services was started by three experienced workers in the spinal injury field in 2001 and the company has since gone on to grow substantially whilst at the same time trying to keep true to their original aims.

Founders Andy Swanson, Tony Lyons and Karen Mason still look for new staff to work with their spinal cord injury clients and families as live-in Personal Assistants who can make life a little bit easier by offering support and assistance with daily routines.

Spinal Homecare Services look to recruit willing Personal Assistants all across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, so these positions could well be of interest to any students and graduates who would like to advance in a career of care work.

Typical tasks for staff at Spinal Homecare Services include helping clients with personal care, administration of medicine, preparing meals, shopping and other household tasks.

The company seeks out people who are over 21 years of age - but would prefer that applicants have at least some history and experience working in the care sector. That said, Spinal Homecare Services can call on their experienced ranks of specialist staff to offer training before you even start your first assignment.

In addition to being over 21 years of age, interested students or graduates should hold a valid driving licence in the UK and be proficient enough to handle a manual car. These requirements are necessary for insurance purposes as you may well need to be behind the wheel of clients’ cars when you work for Spinal Homecare Services.

In return, the pay offered by Spinal Homecare Services is very competitive at over £65 per day. Indeed, for experienced staff you could even hope to earn over £80 a day for this challenging but rewarding line of care work. You will also receive travel expenses, free accommodation and the benefits of working to flexible patterns.

This sort of work is not easy, in fact it can be very demanding – but it can also be highly rewarding - and can become a long term career for students or graduates with the right characteristics and qualities.
