Volunteer Abroad on critical community and conservation projects
Global Vision International (GVI) runs responsible volunteering programs in over 40 countries around the world. We offer volunteers the chance for a hands-on experience by personally contributing to important conservation initiatives and community projects. Volunteer programs run from one week to 2 years.
Today a huge array of volunteering organisations are available for anyone who wants to volunteer abroad. Each seem to offer volunteers the opportunity to go on the unique trip of a lifetime, yet some do not always operate in a way that is beneficial both to the individual volunteer and to the host country / local community in which they are working. GVI is supportive of all volunteer opportunities which contribute to the goals of sustainable development. Often potential participants are struck with too many different options, and ask us to inform them why GVI is a safe option for an ethical volunteering experience. Knowledge: All GVI staff visit the project sites regularly, and have all volunteered (and travelled) themselves, so they have in-depth knowledge about the project, destination, other things to do and see in the local area, and can offer volunteers sound advice on travel issues and what to take.

Service: All GVI’s programs carry our standard support and services package (see support and services for more information) whilst individual programs offer tailor-made services to fit; be it Spanish language lessons, TEFL courses, specialist project training and/or cultural and adventure exploration weekends.
Security: Thoroughly researched project sites and expedition itineraries as well as comprehensive emergency procedures ensure high levels of safety for volunteers.
Commitment: GVI programs provide a long term solution to our project partners. In 2006 78% of volunteer contributions were spent directly in-field.
