Château de Tourreau is one of the most exquisite private estates in Provence. Situated in the heart of the Rhone valley, within easy reach of Avignon, St Remy, Aix-en-Provence and the Carmargue area by the sea, which is famous for its horses and bird-life. This Estate's glorious, fully enclosed landscape embraces 17 acres of mature wooded parkland, elegant formal gardens, orchards, streams and an exciting array of sports facilities. At its heart lies the jewel-like Château itself, set as a final flourish at the end of a long avenue of ancient plane trees.
Beautifully restored by the present owners to reflect its pure 18th century design, the Château has a sophisticated refinement, which is enhanced by its eclectic collection of antiques. The 21st century technology is also discreetly present. There is air-conditioning throughout and each room has its own internet connection and mobile phone with voice mail. With its adjacent 18th century Farm building, Conference Room/Salon Provençal, its Business Centre, extensive sports facilities and an astonishing pool, Château de Tourreau is a property for all seasons. Finally, for reasons of security and insurance, out of bounds to all Tenants and guests are the Estate's "maintenance" and the "agricultural" areas, all of which are located respectively in part of the Farm and to the East collectively of: the Farm building, the Swimming Pool, the Volleyball, Badminton and Croquet Lawn, and the Tennis and Basketball Courts.
Every year we look for two young people, either a couple (our preference given the diverse nature of the tasks to be done) or two young women or men, to spend the summer with us at our French home, near Avignon, in Provence, France. We shall require that these persons help with the cooking, house cleaning, shopping, garden maintenance and general matters – to be further discussed with each specific applicant. The Chateau is also sometimes rented out, and you will help with looking after the guests.
