All Bar One have dozens of bar restaurants in the United Kingdom, so, if there is one local to where you study or live during the holidays then you might be able to find a part time job or some work at summer or Christmas.

All Bar One’s owners are Mitchells & Butlers who also include the restaurant and pub brand names Harvester, Sizzling Pubs, Toby Carvery, Browns Restaurants and O'Neill's in their stable.

The first All Bar One bar opened its doors at Sutton in South London during 1994. They have since grown to a chain of around 50 outlets and expect to expand further in the coming years.

There are around 20 All Bar One restaurants in London and various others at big student towns and cities like Manchester, Cambridge, Oxford, Norwich, Reading, Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham, Birmingham, Nottingham, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, York, Glasgow and Edinburgh. As you would expect of a bar and restaurant chain which serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and tapas, there are plenty of staff employed as waiters and waitresses at All Bar One. And, obviously someone needs to make the food for customers so a range of kitchen jobs could also be on offer - from kitchen assistants to full time chefs.

On the drinks side of the business you could pin down a part time job behind the bar serving beers, wines or cocktails.

All Bar One don’t stipulate that experience is essential to earn a place with them, but you will need to prove your passion for hospitality and highlight some other of your character qualities which they might value highly. Obviously, if you want to work front of house then you will need to show that you are friendly and great with people. If you are working in the kitchens then show you don’t mind some hard graft.

Once you have a foot in the door at All Bar One, then they have a structured training programme for all new bar, restaurant and kitchen staff. If you perform well then you may even be asked to move into management which would involve much more responsibility and commitment to the company, but you would receive extra pay and bonuses from All Bar One in return.
