PricewaterhouseCoopers has been named top graduate employer for the fifth year in a row by the Times.

The City firm, which employs more than 146,000 people in 150 countries worldwide, was place top of the Times' Top 100 Graduate Employers.

Compiled after more than 15,000 interviews with working graduates, the list ranks the most sought after employers in the UK.

Ian Powell, UK chairman and senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, said: "Each year we recruit over 1,000 talented graduates into our business reflecting our investment in people."

"It is a great accolade for our firm to be seen by graduates as providing an excellent business schooling and long-term career."

UK head of student recruitment for the London based financial services firm Sonja Stockton said PricewaterhouseCoopers was delighted to be the top graduate employer for the fifth consecutive year.

She added the company has a variety of career opportunities for graduates both at home and abroad and the firm will continue its on-campus activity to help students develop their employability.

Meanwhile, according to the Times UK Graduate Careers Survey 2008, graduates are most interested in jobs that provide a daily challenge.
