Graduate Job News

The number of British workers unhappy with their current job has reached six million, according to a report published by YouGov and the Trade Unions Congress.

What Workers Want, which includes data from a poll of 2,850 people, shows that one in four workers in the UK are dissatisfied with their job and more than a third complained of increased stress levels in their current role, reports the Independent.

Also, a third of respondents claimed that they did not enjoy their job.

The TUC's secretary general Brendan Barder told the paper: "There are some challenging figures here for British employers."

The study was published hot on the heels of independent research by international recruitment firm Kelly Services, which found almost half of graduates wished they had studied something different at University.

According to the Guardian, Butlins is teaming up with the University of Chichester to establish a foundation degree in musical theatre.

Dr Roni Brown, executive dean of business, arts and humanities at the university, told the paper: "What we're offering is central to the skills needs of leisure and tourism in this part of the world."
