uk workers are picking the wrong career
02-Sep-2008

UK workers are picking the wrong career Almost half of workers in the UK would change what they studied after finishing school if they could go back and choose again, according to new research.

The study by global recruitment firm Kelly Services shows that 47 per cent of people wished they had studied something different before choosing their career path and one in five felt they had chosen the wrong career altogether, reports Onrec.com

After interviewing 115,000 people in countries around the world, the recruiter found that 44 per cent felt their school education did not prepare them for working life and more than two-thirds felt they should have studied further.

Managing director of the firm Chris Moore told the recruitment news provider: "Many people in the workforce do not believe that their education properly prepared them for working life and quite a few a have regrets about the direction that their job has taken them."

"Life’s too short to stay in an unsatisfying job," he added.

According to the Independent, research by YouGov shows one in four British workers are unhappy with their job.
