Half of the UK's workforce considers walking out on their job after returning from a holiday, new research claims.
A survey by Direct HolidayBookings.co.uk found 46 per cent of Brits get such a bad-case of post-holiday blues that they look for a new job immediately, while more than half (56 per cent) admit they feel unsettled upon their return to their desks.
The website's director Andrew Gibson said holidays are a vital way for workers to recharge their batteries.
"But it's only natural that, as they return to the daily grind after a fantastic break, many people will suffer from post-holiday blues or become unsettled in their jobs when they return to their desks," he added.
For most people this has a positive long-term effect as it prepares them for a new challenge, he concluded.
Meanwhile, it was revealed by Halifax last week that almost half (48 per cent) of students turn to part-time employment in order to support their studies at university.
