Brits 'find some workplaces frustrating'

30 Jul 2008

Brits 'find some workplaces frustrating' One-fifth of British employees find their current roles frustrating, new research suggests.

A study published by management consultancy Hay Group shows a fifth of the working population find aspects of their organisation a source of frustration.

Students looking for work may want to research potential employers thoroughly, as many workers believe unnecessary bureaucracy causes anger and poor performance in their workplace.

Ben Hubbard, the regional director of Hay Group's employee survey division, called for managers to make workplaces more enjoyable and satisfying.

"Managers must act to remove procedural barriers and unnecessary bureaucracy, and provide employees with the tools, technology, information, support and other resources they need to be effective in their jobs," he added.

Last year, research conducted by the Royal Bank of Scotland found students earn £2.1 billion during term time.

Furthermore, it revealed many undertake work which will help them later on in their careers.
