How recruitment agencies can create jobs after the reduction of red tape was discussed by industry professionals as soon as the European Union's (EU) Agency Work Directive was announced, it has been reported.
Recruitment professionals from across Europe took part in a European Confederation of Private Employment Agencies (Eurociett) conference in Brussels on Tuesday (June 10th), to discuss the implications of the new EU directive, according to Recruiter magazine.
Those students who like to work as temps to support their studies could be interested to hear that more jobs could be created which could improve their chances of finding work or switching to a better-paid job.
Stephane Ouaki, deputy head of the European Commission cabinet, told the website: "It was a very consensual agreement - the UK can be very satisfied with the outcome. It is a very positive step for the country and its labour market."
The report added that Annemarie Muntz, president of the employers' body, told the conference during a panel meeting that two million jobs could be created across the continent in five years if "unnecessary regulation" is removed.
It was reported by the BBC last week that the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is advising small and medium-sized enterprises concerned about the consequences the global economic climate might have on their firm's ability to take on temporary staff.
