A mobile phone giant has launched a new mobile broadband service for its UK customers.
Students that like to surf the internet on their mobile phones could be interested to hear that O2 UK announced last week that it would offer customers two packages.
O2 Customers can connect by using a plug-in USB modem or dongle to the internet on laptops via the O2 mobile network, or in any of the 7,500 free Wi-Fi hotspots around the UK.
Its customers can sign for either a one or 18-month contract and tariffs start from £20 for 3GB of data usage.
Sally Cowdry, marketing director of O2 UK, said that getting the customers' experience right was crucial.
"We are confident our broadband services complete a great communication experience for our customers however they want to connect to the internet, whether that be at home, on their mobile phone or laptop."
The BBC's Rory Cellan-Jones wrote on his blog that a war of words had broken out between providers of mobile broadband.
He claimed that one mobile provider had reported another to the advertising standards authority.
