Mock interview seminar for employers

29 Feb 2008

Mock interview seminar for employers The south Wales Working Well Together Group (WWT) has announced it will be holding a mock "interview under caution" event next month in an effort to help employers with the new corporate manslaughter and corporate homicide act 2007 which comes into force on April 6th.

Held in Cardiff, the event puts managers in a post-accident scenario and they are given a mock police interview in order to educate them on the process.

Chantal Nicholls, Health and Safety Executive (HSE) principal inspector for Construction in Wales, said: "Following the success of a similar event last year, the group decided to run another in 2008 and with the new legislation coming into force, this was the obvious theme."

She added that the interview is a "nerve-wracking experience" and although the scenario is made up the line of questioning is "exactly the same as any employer could expect if they find themselves the subject of a joint investigation by the Police and HSE".

The event is free for employers who are in the construction industry.

WWT aims to improve the health and safety practises in the construction industry. It was launched in May 1999.
