Students who are environmentally-friendly may be interested to hear about the new FreeLoader 8.0mobile phone charger, which is solar powered.
The charger, which has been developed by Solar Technology, can charge a range of devices including iPods, digital cameras, mobile phones and supports a direct connection with the iPhone.
It can reportedly power a mobile phone for 44 hours and has been described as reliable and easy to use. It uses the latest in solar technology to convert the power of the sun into energy for mobile phones and can simultaneously change its own battery to ensure that batteries never run flat.
The charger also claims to have extra sensitive solar panels, making it easier to get energy despite the cloudy conditions too often seen here in the UK.
Meanwhile, in related news, fashion-conscious students can now get their hands on the Samsung Armani mobile phone.
Following on from LG's partnership with Prada, Samsung has teamed up with the Italian designer to offer the mobile phone, which is a touchscreen handset.
As expected, the phone is slim and a tidy design but it is not Wi-Fi enabled and does not have 3G technology.
The phone costs around £365 when buying the handset alone, so students looking to make a fashion statement might want to incorporate it into one of the mobile phone deals.
