Not just any part time jobs Students living in Glasgow who are looking for some part time work and temporary work during term time may be in luck as Marks & Spencer has announced that it is creating 300 new jobs - half of which will be part time.

A new clothing, furnishing and food store at the Glasgow Fort is to be built which will increase the complex's retail space is increased by nearly 50 per cent.

Retail property expert Marcus Lowe told the Glasgow Evening Times: "The chain recognises the growing popularity of Glasgow Fort and will recruit up to 300 staff. It will be a mixture of full-time and part-time posts and a large percentage of the workforce will be hired locally."

A spokeswoman for Marks & Spencer added that "there will be a significant number of jobs created".

The Glasgow Fort complex was built in 2004 and cost £200 million. It attracted 13.5 million shoppers there last year.

It currently has more than 70 stores and it is hoped that the expansion can be completed by Christmas 2009. 200 jobs on top of the Marks & Spencer jobs are also expected to be created through the expansion.

Marks & Spencer has over 600 stores located throughout the UK and 240 across the globe. It operates in 34 different countries.
