Scots praised in workers research

Scots praised in workers research Students in Scotland may well have the advantage when it comes to securing employment, as they can claim to start work faster in the morning than any other nationality in the UK, according to a new report.

Research by OAexecutive has revealed that 24 per cent of workers from Scotland take just five to ten minutes to start work in the morning, while in Northern Ireland 33 per cent of workers say they aren't properly focused on their jobs after an hour of being in work.

Fraser McLeod, operations manager for OAexecutive, told Recruiter Magazine: "We are not surprised that Scottish workers come out on top when it comes to efficiency and dedication in the workplace. Local employers seem to be recognising their workforce’s value."

Over half of Scots choose to clear their inbox as the first thing they do on a morning activity, while in the rest of the UK, 36 per cent choose to gossip and 25 per cent surf the internet, according to the report.

Just three per cent of workers in Scotland say that they would be glad to be rid of the internet.

In a separate survey, by the Learning and Skills Council, it was recently revealed that workers in the UK prefer to stick with their jobs and try and improve them rather than quit and look for a new one.
