New facility to bring new jobs A new manufacturing facility that will be opened in Northampton is set to create more jobs, meaning good news for students looking for graduate jobs in the area.

Irisys, the company which is opening the facility, is moving its production to the Westgate Industrial Estate. It manufactures infrared people counters as well as thermal imaging systems.

Managing director of Irisys David Clayson said: "This is an extremely exciting time for us as we enter a period of major growth in our business. Our relocation to new premises will enable us to increase our output capacity from 37,000 units a year to 250,000. Our aim is to double our turnover year-on-year for the foreseeable future."

He added that Northampton is an "excellent location" for the business and the he is glad to say that "the continued growth of the company will bring new jobs to the local area".

An opening ceremony will be held on January 31st and there will be local dignitaries and industry experts attending.

The company has also opened new headquarters at Swan Valley having previously operated from an old mill in Towcester.

Irisys attempts to apply advanced infra red technology which has been developed for the military to everyday products.
