Liverpool ONE, a £1 billion regeneration project which will transform Liverpool's city centre, is starting its week long recruitment drive today, providing good news for students looking for jobs in the city.

The scheme has created around 5,000 new jobs and interviews will be guarantee for people who are unemployed in Liverpool.

Joanna Jennings, chief executive of Liverpool ONE, says: "The outreach events next week are a vital stage in our recruitment process. We're really looking forward to meeting the people soon to be our Liverpool ONE team. We are looking for people who bring the skills that are important to us and who have pride in their city."

She added that the company wants to "meet people who are passionate about customer service and who want to work together as one team".

The recruitment events are being held at various locations in Liverpool and a brief presentation will be given at the start which will explain the jobs that are available and what kind of training will be on offer.

Liverpool ONE is the largest urban regeneration project that is currently happening in Europe and the new development covers 42 acres. Over 160 new shops will be built as part of the plans.
