Manufacturer announces recruitment plans

Manufacturer announces recruitment plans A major manufacturer has provided good news to graduate engineers after it announced that it will be starting a huge recruitment drive in the New Year after enjoying a good year in 2007.

Hayward Tyler, which produces motors and pumps for the gas, oil and power industry has said it wants to recruit new staff for senior and skilled engineering jobs.

Larry Redmond, director at Hayward Tyler in Luton, said: "This is an exciting time for the company and we now need to fill a number of important positions over the coming months. One of Hayward Tyler's strengths is its ability to select and retain experienced personnel who not only bring real value to the business but who will enjoy all the benefits of being part of a growing UK based niche engineering business."

The company reintroduced its apprenticeship and graduate training programmes in July this year. It sees this as an important part of its future growth due to the lack of skilled engineers currently in the sector.

There was further good news for students looking to break into the engineering and construction sectors after it was reported in the Greenock Telegraph that a new construction academy could be set up in Inverclyde by the building company Carillion.
