Retail management scheme announced Graduates who have been in the retail industry for seven years or more have been encouraged to apply for a scholarship on a training event for retail managers.

There are only seven free places available on the course and applications for bursaries close on January 2nd.

Nigel Rothband, chief executive of Retail Trust, which is organising the course, told onrec.com: "Retail Trust has long recognised the need for increased educational opportunities for people working in retail. The aim of this bursary scheme is to assist aspiring managers in achieving their potential and fulfilling their ambitions in retail."

People already in graduate retail jobs may see the course as an ideal way to kick start their careers.

There will be different guest speakers on each day of the course, which will provide plenty of networking opportunities.

A Dragon's Den-style activity will also be run, with people on the course pitching their business plans to a panel of experts from the industry.

Successful applicants for the bursary will be saving £1,950 of fees for the course, which lasts four days and is residential.

Retail Trust is a national charity for the retail industry offers support and assistance to people working in retail. It offers free counselling and free legal advice.
