Broadband users in the UK are enjoying the best deals for their internet access, as well as TV and phone rental, according to a report.
The report, by Ofcom, shows that the UK has the cheapest media deals in Europe and people buy their services as bundle deals more than their European counterparts.
About 40 per cent of households in the UK currently have bundled packages for their TV, broadband and phone, which is 11 per cent higher than this time last year.
Bundled packages often offer better value for money. This makes them more attractive to students trying to save money in shared houses.
Britons are also switching on to digital television faster than the rest of Europe.
The UK has edged ahead of the US for the first time in terms of households that are connected to a broadband service. Over half of households in Britain were connected to broadband by the end of 2006.
Increases in broadband uses are reflected by advertisers using the internet more and more to get noticed. Advertisers spend on average £33 per person on internet adverts, according to the report.
Ofcom was established in 2002 and is the regulator for the UK communications industries.
