Engineering graduates in Northern Ireland may have more employment opportunities, after Bombardier Aerospace announced it is going to create over 300 new jobs in Belfast.
The company has announced its intentions to produce more of its CRJ700 and 900 jets which Shorts, the Belfast-based business, makes key components for, including the wings and some of the fuselage.
A Shorts spokesman said: "We welcome the current upturn in the market particularly given the difficult time we have experienced over the past two years. We are now striving to achieve a more stable working environment for our existing employees in Belfast, whilst at the same time managing future market fluctuations evolving customer requirements."
Shorts says that most of the 330 jobs will be temporary but around 100 of the jobs will be on a permanent basis, it is not known how many will be graduate jobs.
Last year Shorts had been forced to make 440 of its workers redundant due to lack of work coming in for the company.
Meanwhile, people starting their graduate careers but who suffer from stress may be boosted by the news that the government is investing £5 million into increasing the number of employment advisers in GP surgeries.
The scheme is designed to help people suffering from mental health conditions, such as stress, remain in their jobs.
