Students and graduates who own cars are being told they can save money by switching their car insurance provider.
Research by Tesco Finance has found that two-thirds of motorists could save a bit of cash just by looking around for different deals for their car insurance.
The survey also showed that only 32 per cent of people have switched providers in the last 12 months.
Peter Dingle, managing director at Tescocompare.com, said: "Our research shows that there are a great proportion of motorists out there who aren't searching for the best deal for their car insurance and who are instead staying with their current car insurance provider. This suggests that the majority of motorists are more concerned with getting the right cover for their individual needs, than getting the cheapest price."
Ten per cent of car owners revealed that they had never switched their car insurance providers according to the report.
Out of the people who have switched their provider in the past few years, 56 per cent said that the price was the most important factor when choosing new car insurance.
Meanwhile students dreaming of fame and celebrity status might want to think again if they are going to own a car at the same time, according to elephant.co.uk.
The website has added celebrity as an occupation on its car insurance forms and it has resulted in price rises for wannabe celebrities such as Jade Goody whose insurance has risen 22 per cent since becoming a 'celebrity'.
