specialist recruitment agency advised for law graduates
12-Oct-2007

Specialist recruitment agency advised for law graduates Law graduates would do better to work with specialist recruiters who understand their needs, an expert has advised.

Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) head of public policy Anne Fairweather said that consultants who understand the industry would be able to better help and advise with networking and contacts.

Internet sites were a useful way of researching agencies and the types of jobs on offer throughout the industry, she added.

REC figures show that the recruitment industry is worth £24.5 billion to the UK economy.

The trade organisation's include 8,000 recruitment agencies, corporate members and 6,000 individual recruitment professionals.

Ms Fairweather said: "In a field like legal, you really want one that specialises in that area.

"Clearly your name is your reputation in an area such as legal and the last thing you want is a recruitment consultant misrepresenting yourself!"

She went on to add that some agencies specialise in helping people further on in their legal careers and this was something to bear in mind.
