Part Time Job And Holiday Job News

A course has been launched to help students get the right look when they head to interview.

Job-seekers in Nuneaton were given advice on a course aimed at improving their chances in a number of ways.

They headed on the train to neighbouring Coventry where they picked interview outfits, according to icCoventry.

The scheme, called Ready 4 Work, is designed for students aged between 16 and 20.

It gives participants advice and practice at CV writing and filling out application forms, as well as business tips and mock interviews.

Personal Adviser Ms Liggins was quoted by icCoventry as saying: "There is high unemployment in this area and there is a lot of stereotyping of young people, but we want to show that the vast majority are motivated and want to succeed if they are given the opportunities.

"Some of these people live independently and do not have traditional modes of support available to them."

She said that part of the point of taking the trip to Coventry was to show the jobseekers how easy it is to get there and how it would be simple to use public transport to attend an interview in the town.

"We need to encourage them and it has been a really positive experience," Ms Liggins added.
