Manchester-based fashion firm PrettyLittleThing will create 1,200 full and part time jobs in Sheffield as it opens new e-commerce operations in the Yorkshire city.

The operations will be based at a new 56,000 square metre warehouse in Sheffield and will be run by Clipper Logistics, a specialist in fashion and retail logistics and e-fulfilment.

The contract between Clipper and PrettyLittleThing starts this July and the 1,200 Sheffield vacancies should be filled by the end of 2018.

It is expected that a variety of shifts will be available at the new facility, meaning that students in Sheffield could easily source some work at the warehouse without interfering with their study commitments.

Commenting on the deal which had been struck between the two firms, Carol Kane, joint Chief Executive Officer of boohoo.com, Pretty Little Thing’s parent company, said: “We are delighted to have successfully concluded our negotiations and to be entering into a contractual relationship with Clipper which we hope will be a long, successful and prosperous partnership for both parties.”

Steve Parkin, executive chairman of Clipper said: “The new contract with Pretty Little Thing represents one of the company’s most significant contract wins and is demonstrative of our ability to deliver cost-effective solutions for retailers of any scale.”
