The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has teamed up with Leadership Through Sport & Business and local colleges to offer apprenticeships to young people in London.

Open to young people from 16 to 24 years of age, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s apprenticeship strives to give job seekers from disadvantaged backgrounds a foot on the careers’ ladder.

The apprenticeships run for two years and will see apprentices gain a Sports Leadership qualification from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

The Spurs’ apprentices will also have the chance to do volunteer work and will gain employability skills from Leadership Through Sport & Business placements.

Andy Forbes, Executive Principal of the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, which takes part in the scheme, said: “We’re proud to be an integral part of this highly successful programme. It’s been a very productive partnership over the years, helping many young people achieve the qualifications to establish their careers, and find the opportunities their abilities deserve.”

Caroline Adair, the Chief Executive of Leadership Through Sport & Business, said: “It’s great to be back with Spurs. They were the original football Foundation partners of this transformative programme, and their commitment to the local community is clear in their support of our work.”

Explaining why they had signed up, Chief Executive of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, Sarah Ebanja, said: “We are committed to increasing the quality and quantity of apprenticeships for local youngsters in Tottenham.”

“This programme is designed to give young people a helping hand and develop them into well-rounded members of their community and dedicated, hardworking employees,” added Ms Ebanja.
