Internet Company To Create Dozens Of Jobs In Hull

Internet company Connexin has announced plans which will create dozens of new full or part time jobs in Hull.

The wireless broadband firm has said it will open a new £5 million data centre in the Yorkshire city this December, creating around 60 jobs for the area.

The positions on offer at Connexin will be varied but will include roles such as sales teams, technicians and engineers. There will also be event managers who will bring in local school children to learn about how the internet works by using their state of the art facilities.

The new data centre, to be branded as CXNDC, will also double up as the internet company’s headquarters, featuring an auditorium, cafes and a hi tech video conferencing suite.

David Donkin, property director at Wykeland, the developer who manages the Bridgehead Business Park, said: “Bridgehead is fast becoming the premier business location in the region and we are delighted Connexin have chosen Bridgehead to locate their new Data Centre and Head Office there. It will be a fantastic addition and facility on the Business Park.”

Connexin’s Chief Executive Office, Furqan Alamgir, said: “Hull is not hanging about in its race to become a smart city. Our investment is real, it’s happening and this state of the art data centre is proof of that. Hull is advancing technologically at pace and it’s a privilege to be part of it.”
