Subway To Create 300 Full & Part Time Jobs In Hampshire

Subway, the fast food sandwich chain, has announced expansion plans which will see the franchise firm create up to 300 new full and part time jobs in Hampshire.

Amongst other places, Subway is currently looking to open new branches in Andover, Basingstoke, Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh, Fareham, Lymington,Romsey and Southampton, with a typical new store creating around a half dozen to a dozen vacancies.

Royston Smith, MP for the Southampton Itchen Constituency, welcomed the announcement, saying: “Subway’s expansion shows their confidence in the UK economy and particularly in the county. Additionally this is really good news for jobs in what is already a very buoyant jobs market.”

Commenting on the Hampshire jobs bonanza, Subway’s south coast regional development agent, Mark Bradley, said: “We are really excited to work with local entrepreneurs to open new locations throughout the Hampshire region over the next three years creating jobs for local people.”

“I am really keen to hear from local people who are looking to fulfill their dreams of owning their own business and becoming their own boss,” added Mr Bradley.

Subway now has around 2,500 branches all over the United Kingdom, but has expansion plans for a further 500 over the next three years. By the end of 2020, Subway expects to boast a portfolio of 3,000 franchised outlets and will have created a further 5,000 new full and part time jobs.
