Domino’s Pizza To Create 3,200 New UK Jobs

Domino’s Pizza has announced that it will create a further 3,200 new full or part time jobs in the UK with another round of expansion.

Domino’s expects to open a further 80 UK stores before the end of 2018, a similar figure to the number of new UK outlets which the chain has added over the previous twelve months.

The move will create around 3,000 vacancies at new Domino’s Pizza stores all over the UK. A further 200 positions could be created by the opening of an ingredient distribution hub in Warrington.

Last year, Domino’s sold almost 90 million pizzas in the United Kingdom, which amounts to roughly 1.4 pizzas for every person in the UK. The pizza popularity saw them post profits up 17 per cent to £86 million.

Commenting on the Group’s successes, David Wild, chief executive of Domino’s said: “2016 was another successful year for Domino's Pizza Group and this performance is reflected in today's financial results.”

“The UK delivered strong year-on-year growth due to robust like-for-like sales and the opening of 81 new stores. This performance, combined with our tight control of costs, has generated a significant rise in profits and a dividend payment of 8.00p per share,” added Mr Wild.

It wasn’t all great news on the financials for Domino’s, though, as sales growth actually fell to 7.5 per cent from 11.7 per cent over the previous period.
