FinTrU, a London-based financial services firm, has announced plans for 100 new graduate jobs in Belfast over the next five years.

The company will also be advertising a further 60 non-graduate roles over the same time frame for specialists in the industry.

FinTrU has had offices at the Gasworks site in Belfast since 2014, but, so far, only employs 80 people in the Northern Irish city. The new recruitment drive for graduates and specialists will see them triple their headcount in Belfast before the end of 2021. Between them, the new recruits will command a wage bill of more than £4 million a year, with an average salary of over £26,000.

As a business, FinTrU deals in outsourced knowledge services for investment banks and other financial institutions.

Praising the graduate talent pool in the region, Chief Executive Officer for FinTrU, Darragh McCarthy, said: “The supply of talent in Northern Ireland, particularly at graduate level, is impressive and, coupled with the support from Invest NI and Assured Skills, it makes this region a highly attractive location to grow our company.”

“We are delighted with progress to date at our Belfast centre of excellence and indeed completed the recruitment of our 80 strong workforce nine months ahead of schedule,” added Mr McCarthy.

Invest NI has injected over £1 million to help FinTrU with recruitment for the roles. Chief Executive Alastair Hamilton, said: “FinTrU is an ambitious enterprise with aggressive expansion plans and this recruitment drive underlines its confidence in Northern Ireland as an investment location.”

“The 160 new roles to be recruited over the next five years will generate £4.2 million per year in additional salaries and provide valuable jobs opportunities for graduates from a range of disciplines,” added Mr Hamilton.
