ASOS To Create 1,500 Jobs In London

ASOS, the online fashion retailer, has announced plans to create 1,500 jobs in London at its offices in Camden.

The London jobs will be filled by ASOS over the course of the next three years at the company’s headquarters during which time the firm will spend £40 million on the site.

The Camden offices are already home to 2,500 members of staff at the tech company, so the new recruitment drive will see the online-only retailer increase their headcount in the capital by around 60 per cent to 4,000 employees.

The new ASOS jobs will be a mix of hundreds of positions across the technology, content, marketing and retail functions of the business.

Praising the skills base of workers in the capital, Nick Beighton, chief executive of ASOS said: “ASOS is a mixture of fashion, technology, creative and design capability all in one place. There are very few places where you get that hotspot of those talents in one place so London's very good for that.”

“Our people are what make ASOS special. We are creating a workspace that fosters creativity, where they can enjoy what they do.Greater London House is such an important part of the company’s history, as well as Camden’s, so I’m thrilled that we get to stay in our home, while building a workplace for the future.”

“The decision today is nothing to do with Brexit. These plans had been put together pre-June 23,” added Mr Beighton.
