McDonald’s will create over 140 full and part time jobs in Liverpool with plans to open two new outlets in the Merseyside city.

The burger specialist has announced two new restaurants, one on Church Street in Liverpool city centre and the other one at the Great Homer Street regeneration scheme.

The first McDonald’s will create around 65 jobs and the larger restaurant at St Modwen’s Great Homer Street development will generate 75 new jobs once it opens its doors to the public.

Commenting on the Church Street restaurant, a McDonald’s spokesperson said: “This new venture would help support our popular nearby Lord Street and Ranelagh Street restaurants which have recently been refurbished, as well as create 65 full and part-time jobs.”

As for the Great Homer Street McDonald’s, which is expected to complete in Spring 2017 and consist of two floors, Paul Batho, Projects Director at St Modwen, said: “To secure such a high-profile restaurant operator is a real endorsement of the Great Homer Street scheme and is one of several national brands who will be opening up new outlets at the scheme next year.”

Adam Brand, senior acquisitions surveyor for McDonald’s, commented: “We are really excited to be part of the Great Homer Street Scheme and to be able to work with St Modwen on the development.”

“The drive-thru restaurant will provide significant investment for the area and we look forward to welcoming customers in spring next year,” added Mr Brand.
