Sitel To Create Over 1,000 New Jobs

Sitel, the outsourcing specialist, is to create over 1,000 full and part time jobs before February next year, with many of the vacancies to be filled ahead of the company’s busy Christmas period.

Across the United Kingdom, Sitel is boosting its headcount by 1,100 over the next three months, with over a quarter of the vacancies to be advertised in the West Midlands. Coventry and Stratford-upon-Avon are set to benefit majorly from the Sitel recruitment drive with around 300 of the positions to be based in those two areas alone.

Another region which will get a major jobs boost from Sitel is the North East, where the company has a contact centre in Newcastle. The company says, however, that it will be advertising a range of roles across every single one of its eight current UK bases.

The new roles on offer at Sitel will be a mix of full and part time sales and customer service positions at their call centres, with some new staff assisting customers via web chat.

Giving details of the wide range of opportunity on offer at the company, Human Resources director for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Sitel, Joanne Regan-Iles, said:

“We offer flexible working hours with excellent training and career development opportunities. Recent graduates, entrepreneurs looking to supplement their income and second-jobbers are a vital part of the Sitel success story and we are keen to also offer them the chance to add skills and for some, the chance to build careers in customer care.”

Sitel UK & Ireland’s General Manager, Karl Brough, explained why there is a new push for talent at the firm, saying, “In the last 12 months we have seen phenomenal growth as today’s brands increasingly outsource their customer service in order to meet continued pressure on cost, customer expectations for higher quality and rising levels of complexity.”

“There is huge demand for multi-channel, mobile and digital solutions as customers demand more ways to engage, particularly in the retail and financial services sectors. We are delighted to be able to create so many more jobs and are committed to investing in the UK as consumer demand grows,” added Mr Brough.

Sitel, a subsidiary of French CMS firm Groupe Acticall, now employs more than 75,000 staff to help them deal with over 400 diverse clients. Between them, Sitel’s staff can boast almost 50 different languages and offer services in more than 20 countries worldwide.
