Logistics firm Arrow XL is to expand its warehouse facilities in a move which will create at least 100 new full or part time jobs in Wigan.

Arrow XL currently employs almost 400 staff at their Wigan warehouse facility at Martland Mill, but a £1.7 million investment by the firm will almost double their capacity at the site, allowing them to boost their employee numbers to potentially 500 or more.

With the company’s headquarters now also based in Wigan, Arrow XL will be recruiting for a number of roles across its business, with warehousing jobs, office jobs and call centre positions all up for grabs.

Many of the new Wigan jobs at Arrow XL will be filled in the next few weeks as the firm gears up for a very busy period from Black Friday at the end of November right through into the Christmas holidays.

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post, Ian Howell, Chief Executive of Arrow XL, said: “We are committed to Wigan and to grow our business from this location. We’re delighted to have the chance to make this level of investment and to create more jobs in the area. And there is the potential for even more as we continue to grow in the future.”

“We’re talking about a wide range of jobs requiring different skills. We already employ 375 here in Wigan and this could rise to more than 500,” added Mr Howell.
