Hilton is to create 350 full or part time hotel jobs in Aberdeen when it opens at its fourth location in the Scottish city.

Set to complete in 2019, the new Hilton will be at Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre (AECC) and will boast 200 bedrooms, a restaurant, a cocktail bar, health & fitness facilities, meeting rooms and an executive lounge.

Once the latest Hilton opens in Aberdeen it is expected to host over 30,000 guests each year, adding over £10 million to the city’s economy and supporting hundreds of new jobs in roles such as reception, catering, cleaning, admin and management.

Aberdeen City Council is working in partnership with Henry Boot Developments on the Hilton hotel project. The company’s director, Nick Harris, said: “We’re delighted to have secured Hilton, an internationally renowned and respected hotel brand, as part of the new AECC complex. The presence of a Hilton hotel directly connecting to the new venue will make it an even more attractive proposition to both leisure and business visitors, who can travel from outlying areas safe in the knowledge they have high quality accommodation right on the doorstep.”

“The expected creation of 350 new jobs is also excellent news for Aberdeen and the north east,” added Mr Harris.

Once complete, the new Aberdeen Hilton will be managed by Glasgow hotel management specialist Redefine|BDL Hotels. The company’s managing director, Stewart Campbell, was equally enthusiastic about the project, saying: “We’re pleased to announce plans to add what will be a prestigious Aberdeen property to our existing Scottish portfolio. Working with Hilton and Aberdeen City Council, we will ensure Hilton Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre offers exceptional guest service experiences, encouraging visitors to Aberdeen to return.”
