A new Premier Inn hotel in Matlock is creating 26 jobs and apprenticeships in Derbyshire. The hotel chain has confirmed that 23 of the new Derbyshire jobs will be regular positions, whilst the other three places are apprenticeships.

The new £3.4 million Premier Inn, the chain’s sixth in the county, will feature almost 60 rooms and will open in the second week of August. The Premier Inn Matlock is on Bakewell Road and the hotel will also feature a bar and a Thyme restaurant onsite.

New Openings Manager for Matlock’s Premier Inn, Kellie Jervis, said: “I'm delighted to be opening the new Matlock site right here on the doorstep of the beautiful Peak District. The team has been busy getting to know the local community and has set a target of £850 to raise for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, with fund-raising summer open days, face painting, quiz nights and charity raffles all planned during July and August.”

Premier Inn have over 700 hotels in the UK, making them the biggest chain in the country. In the next four years, the company, owned by the Whitbread Group, forecasts that it will grow its portfolio to a level which will see it having more than 85,000 bedrooms.
