EveryDay, a North Shields-based homecare provider which is owned by Age UK North Tyneside, has announced expansion plans which will see it create around 360 care jobs in the North East.

The company, which already provides full or part time jobs for around 200 members of staff in the North East, has seen an increase in demand for its care services which allow adults to live at home independently, but still receive care.

After starting their 24/7 care services in North Tyneside with great success, EveryDay is now confident it can extend its reach to South Tyneside and Gateshead in a move which will see them taking on hundreds more care staff in full time roles or on flexible contracts over the next twelve months.

Care jobs on offer at EveryDay will be varied with everything on offer from personal support assistants and team leaders, right up to coordinator positions and assistant management roles.

Commenting on the recruitment launch, group chief executive for EveryDay, Alma Caldwell, said: “We have embarked on the next phase of expansion and this will provide work for at least 360 care professionals in the next twelve months. We have seen a huge increase in demand for our services and that will rise further as the population gets older and people live longer.”

And, explaining that at least some of the positions will be entry level jobs, Ms Caldwell, added: “The key challenge for us is finding sufficient people with the requisite level of skills. We will also be recruiting people with basic skills and providing training for them as they embark on a rewarding career with us.”
