B&M To Create 50 New Derbyshire Jobs

B&M Stores, the Liverpool-based discount retailer, is to create 50 new full and part time Derbyshire jobs with a new branch in the village of Somercotes.

B&M Stores, popularly known as B&M Bargains, will open their new Derbyshire branch at the beginning of December on Nottingham Road at the site of a former B&Q store, adding to their existing portfolio of over 450 UK outlets. The company employs more than 20,000 people in full and part time roles, serving over one hundred million customers a year.

Store Manager for the latest B&M outlet in Derbyshire, Gaynor Bolton, said: “We are really proud to be creating 50 jobs across Somercotes this year and playing our part in the local community. We are excited to get the doors open on Saturday, December 5; providing great value products and world class service to customers across the whole town. Customers can expect a wide variety of branded and own label products from its convenient location on Nottingham Road including groceries and toiletries as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, home, furniture and seasonal ranges.”

Recruitment for the 50 vacancies at Somercotes is already under way, so any students at nearby Alfreton Grange Arts College who are looking for work should contact the new store to see if they could pick up a flexible job with B&M.
