Endsleigh Insurance To Create 100 New Jobs In Burnley

Endsleigh, the student and professionals insurance specialist, has announced plans to relocate in a move which will create 100 new full or part time jobs in Burnley.

The company will move from existing multi-floor premises at Ashworth House on Manchester Road to a much more central location in Burnley city centre early next year. As well as creating a further 100 new vacancies, the move will also safeguard a further 160 Burnley jobs at Endsleigh Insurance.

The 100 new jobs to be filled will be advertised throughout 2016 and more details will follow as to the exact location where Endsleigh will be based in Burnley city centre.

Explaining the reasons behind the relocation, an Endsleigh spokesperson said: “We are moving to a new space because it is better for our current and future needs. The business will all be located on one floor rather than spread across four floors as it is at the moment, and this will allow for a more dynamic working environment. The new site will feature updated equipment. Burnley Council has supported the move and helped us to find a new premises. There will be more information on the types of roles available in the coming months. The aim is to move into the new premises in January 2016.”

Burnley councillor Sue Graham welcomed the announcement, saying it was great that Endsleigh had committed to Burnley as they could have relocated to anywhere else in the country.

“Endsleigh have been in Burnley for a very long time so for them to reaffirm their commitment to the area is fantastic news. An extra 100 jobs is a significant number in this day and age and they are good, white collar jobs as well. The new office is in the town centre so it is not just the new jobs but the knock-on effect as well,” said Councillor Graham, the portfolio holder for regeneration and economic development at Burnley Council.

Burnley MP, Julie Cooper, was also enthusiastic about the Endsleigh Insurance relocation and the future prospects for the city, saying: “Going forward Burnley is a town which is on the up and long may it continue.”
