Five Guys To Create Dozens Of Swansea Restaurant Jobs

Growing restaurant chain Five Guys is to open a new outlet in Wales, creating dozens of new full or part time jobs in Swansea.

The new Swansea branch of Five Guys is expected to be up and running in early November, selling their brand of American burgers to the hungry people of South Wales. It is thought that 35 jobs will be available before Christmas at the new restaurant in the Castle Quarter of the Welsh city.

Five Guys moved into Welsh territory earlier this year, opening a new restaurant in Cardiff. The new Five Guys near Swansea Castle will be the chain’s second in the country, but it is expected that they will continue to expand in Wales.

Coastal Housing, the developers behind the £8 million restaurant and apartment complex which will be home to the new Five Guys, was excited to have attracted the American diner chain to Swansea’s Castle Quarter.

Helen Jones, the commercial co-ordinator for Coastal Housing, said “We are thrilled to have finalised a long-term lease with Five Guys as this helps us in our drive to bring people back to live and work in the city centre. The arrival of an international food and drink brand like Five Guys will provide a great boost to the High Street area. We hope it will act as a shot in the arm for future investment potential in the city centre.”

And Chief Executive Officer of the Five Guys restaurant chain in the UK, John Eckbert, was also pleased with the new deal and the jobs it will bring to Swansea, saying: “We’re very excited to be launching in the city. Wales is a very important part of our expansion plans, and we are so pleased we found this prominent site with such a great view of Swansea Castle.”

“The new Castle Quarter development is sure to attract a host of new residents, workers and shoppers who we hope will also become our customers. We can’t wait to introduce Swansea to what we have to offer and look forward to serving our first burgers in this bustling city,” added Mr Eckbert.
